 I've been ensnared. Like a rabbit in a trap, I feel there is no escape. At this moment, I'm approaching 10 days of playtime. Not that I've been playing for the past 10 days. No, I have nearly 240 hours of playtime. How did this happen? I'm still not even sure that I like this game. How!? The short answer? It's engaging. As I'm sure many of the players in the World of Warcraft exodus would tell you, Final Fantasy XIV is good. It's well put together and there's a ton of content to churn through.  My time in Eorzea started two years ago. I have a friend that is heavily invested in the game and he recommended it to me. I bit. I played casually for a couple of months before falling off. I didn't care about the story and the core gameplay wasn't engaging. In my past life in WoW I was primarily a healer with a minor in tanking. So, I figured if I was trying a new game, then I should try a new class.  As I delve deeper and deeper into FFXIV and spend more time actually being in the world of Eorzea, I'm excited to take part in world events. Recently we had the "Make it Rain" campaign revolving around the Gold Saucer. Now, we have the Moonfire Faire which will run from August 13th to August 26th. To begin the quest chain, speak to Mayaru Moyaru at the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (x:11.5 Y:13.8). This will then take you to Costa del Sol. It is at this point the most important quest of all is revealed. It falls to you, brave adventurer, to procure ice so the most delicious iced treat can be made. There will be a little bouncing around on the island as you view various cutscenes and talk to the different colorful characters involved. Fast forward to a quick Fate on the same island to slay the reviled bombard and a victory lap handing out ice cream, and the polar bear mount is yours! On August 4th, South Korean developer Nexon unveiled their upcoming looter shooter, Project Magnum . Not much is known about the game at this moment, but here is a rough Google Translate of the video description: "Project Magnum’ is the first PC and console-based multi-platform game introduced by Netgames, and it stands for the online looter shooter genre. You can enjoy a different game by adding third-person shooter combat to the RPG know-how that Netgames has accumulated."
