Yeah...when playing with friends, no horror game is scary. You're playing to have FUN together. AND TOO OFTEN nowadays people are no longer able to play together on a couch (you know...actually hanging out, and not just bluetooth or texting or hoping your mic works). When even in a recent gaming mag, high on the list of things that have left games that need to return is SPLITSCREEN! Sorry if it takes a couple more weeks to program it in to support all the fans who actually do hang out TOGETHER.

Oh and according to the E3 co-op explanation, co-op will add dialog, new video scenes, and 1 or 2 extra chapters that won't be in single player. But completely optional.
So if they are optional I better not see 300-500 Gamerscore or Trophies be strictly associated with ONLINE ONLY co-op. It's OPTIONAL and therefore should not be required to be able to 100% a game.
Not hating on Deadspace overall, the series is great, and I will probably pre-order this just as I did the first 2 games. Just don't appreciate game changes that have destroyed part of gamer culture all for a buck, and have kept the above guy and gal, and me and my gal (and other buds) from playing together unless we buy an entire new game system.

I probably won't even get this game if it doesn't have split-screen.

I really wish they'd reconsider on the split-screen. Yeah its not as scary, but if your playing o split-screen, then your obviously not playing for the scares, but to have fun with the game and be able to actually physically hang out with your friend your playing with, rather than over an impersonal mic. Still going to be a great game, but they really should support split-screen.

I wish they would reconsider, because my dad and i like to play games togather and he nor i have xbox live... which will cause the game to be overly boring for one of us

Pretty sad actually, this looks like a perfect game for me and my brother to play together. Does the majority really not appreciate a more hands-on approach with their friendships? I guess a big thank you to the makers of Borderlands, they do so many things right, and you know what? they make money off of doing the right things. You think people would follow suit. Welp...guess i won't but giving the makers of dead space 3 my money..

Me and my m8 used 2 play res evi 5 together on split screen and it was epic! Since then we've looked all over for a game that can make us feel like a team in a house of horror and found nothing. we completed dead space 1 and 2 and passed the controller all the way thru and it just aint the same. please repect the people that have real friends and make it split screen. I promis u wont hav much compertition if u do because every other arshole is making everything online co-op. Uv gora be old 2 be new if that makes any sense.

LOL, every socialist gamers want to play any good games to be played with their friends and i agree with them just don't buy this crap if its no support for splitscreen, but if the devs want to make 2 series of this game (1.single mode or 2.splitscreen support)then i will buy the splitscreen support.

what the heck dead space no co-op
what about people who don't have online who love split screen. gears of war, army of two , borderlands, portal, and resistance. it makes no sense why dead space 3 is not split screen.

Not as scary in s/s?? LMAO!! www.abjectretardation.com/visceral

Seriously, do they actually want to SELL the game? I mean, you trumpet the coöp aspects of a game then relegate said gameplay to lagline...only??

My god. Talk about video game developers being dimwitscript jockeys...

Off! to the Pirate Bay!

Omg! Split screen support=no! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? If anybody, EVER, wants to make a co-op game, then make it split screen so brothers or father and sons can play!

I think the developers should reconsider the split screen issue everyone is having. I live in the same house as my brother (who also wants the game) and we can't be on the same screen? I know it changes the scare factor, but who cares! I will probably either avoid this game completely because I won't be able to buy two games and I don't have a gold account. I loved and 100% both Dead Space and Dead Space 2 minus the multiplayer achievements (again no gold account) and think these games are a wonderful series, but I will be disappointed if the issue isn't resolved...

Just sayin gears of and army of two sold a lot of units thanks to splitscreen a lot along with borderlands and xbox's left for dead 1&2 sold a lot thanks to spilt-screen ik dead space is a solo game but js turn off the lights play at midnight adds a lil more scare for you 12 year olds and their making a wrong decision with not including it. When i google searxh it there are a lot of angry consumers and customers also dead space 3 has to sell a certain number of copies to continue i read on a online article and ik when cod came out with online spilt screen me and my friend were very happy. So in return the little things likr spilt screen make a excellent game series better.

I was so excited for DS3, they even added a crazy sidekick, it was going to be PERFECT! my husband and I already charged up our controllers and got all set. see, I suck at shooters, but I *love* deadspace. This was finally going to be my chance to play WITH my husband, instead of watching and telling him where to go. Yeah, I suck, but he said i'd just make the game "Hard Mode. Like a Protection Mission." So, they add this portion of the story I want *most* - someone driven mad by the universe of DS, and now tell me I can't play it because I don't want to drop $1000 on another PS3 and TV? No, very not cool. We'll wait for a pirated version where it's offered. If they rescind their money-grubbing, I'll be happy to add DS3 to our collection. Shame on them, getting people's hopes up then handing them some shitty online play that *no one wanted* - you think I want to play with Beavis the 12 year old cry baby who screams on a mic? No thanks.
